Recent Club Dives
These are a few of the most recent dives we have run within the branch. each organiser has written a few words of wisdom and can be contacted if any details of the trip are needed
Weymouth 4th/5th December 1999
Possibly the last sea dive of this year and very much a gamble with the weather. Saturday was gales and rain so limmited the group of 6 ELSAC and 3 Liverpool divers to the wreck of the Hood in Harbour. Visibility was poor and a strong current made for interesting diving. Sunday saw a pleasant change to the weather and the wreck of the landing craft was attempted. Sadly the skipper missed the wreck and the tide and after an interesting reel search using 9 divers the dive was cut short. The back up was the Countess of Herne wreck but visability was grim. Not the best diving for the area as this trip was intended as a technical trip with nearly all on twin 10' or 12's with Nitrox and 7 litre deco bottles in evidence. WE SHALL RETURN!

This Club holiday always has a good turnout and this year was no exception. We spent 2 weeks diving every popular site on the Island and took our own Jeep safari to Malta to dive and snorkel. Fantastic visibility and warm water make for great dives and proved far better than our previous years visit. Most evening our group would literally take over a resteraunt for the night.

Diving out of Sharm we visited the local sites along with trips to the straits of Tiran, Ras Mohamed and the famous Thistlegorm wreck. This is diving at its best. It is difficult to find a site without another boat on it though. We hope to return in 2001 and dive the brothers in the south. Great holiday.

This was definately a techy weekend trip with dives on wrecks in the 40-60m range using rich nitrox for decompression on the custom built trapeeze. Most divers opted for air and 70% mixes on runtime deco profiles with stops from 20-30 mins. Excellent deep dives with rather inclement weather.

Weymouth 2000
Another techy week out of portland on wreck such as the Salsette in the 40-55m range. Deco ran up to 45 minutes and those who bought a 2 mix computer saw the real benifits when switching to rich mixes. Visibility was very good and all had good time with a couple of inspirations in use on the trip.
